Amendment of the policy for registration with the BFU

On the 30th of November 2022, the Council of Ministers approved the Amendment of the Policy of Registration of Companies in the Register of Foreign Interest Companies.

As per the amended policy, the eligibility criteria of Foreign Interest Companies to be registered with the BFU has been modified. More specifically, it now includes the criterion of a company’s obligation to prove an initial investment in the Republic of at least €200,000 (in case of a company whose majority of shares are ultimately owned by third country nationals) which should be proven by presenting the appropriate certificates such as bank swift confirmation.

The Decision entered into force on December 12, 2022.
